BORAMA – Somaliland’s ruling political party, Kulmiye, donated $52,000 to hospitals in Wajaale and Borama on Sunday in response to the recent AWD outbreak in Western Somaliland.

The outbreak started in Eastern Somaliland in early March and has left close to 200 people and thousands hospitalized across the country.

Kulmiye Chairman & Presidential Candidate, Musa Bihi Abdi, paid a visit to AWD patients in Wajaale and Borama and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to helping AWD patients during the visit.

Abdi also called on Kulmiye supporters nationwide to reach into their pockets and help AWD patients, during a brief speech at a hospital in Borama.

Last week, Kulmiye donated $70,00 to Burao General Hospital after numerous AWD-related deaths were reported at the hospital.
