HARGEISA – A high-level delegation from the Republic of Somaliland paid a visit to the offices of DP World on Sunday to discuss the ongoing $442 million expansion project of Somaliland’s port of Berbera.
Somaliland’s Foreign Minister, Saad Ali Shire, Presidential Affairs Minister, Mohamud Hashi Abdi, Planning Minister, Mohamed Ibrahim Adan Qabo, Finance Minister, Zamzam Abdi Adan, UAE representative, Bashe Awil Haji Omar and National Ports Director, Saeed Hasan Abdullahi met with DP World CEO, Sultan Bin Ahmed Sulayem to also discuss the establishment of the Berbera Free Zone project.
According to the press release from the President’s Communications Office, DP World’s CEO pledged to speed up their expansion of Berbera Port and to provide additional extensive training for DP World Berbera employees.
The delegation is expected to return to Somaliland later this week.
