HARGEISA – The last set of election material for Somaliland’s 2017 presidential election arrived on the grounds of Egal International Airport on Sunday (Oct 8).
NEC Chairman Abdikadir Iman Warsame, fellow NEC commissioners and representatives from the three political parties (Kulmiye, Waddani and UCID), were present at the airport on Sunday morning to witness the arrival of the shipment.
‘”The last set of equipment and ballot papers for the elections has now arrived via Flydubai. The equipment was brought to the country by two of our commissioners, Abdirahman Osman and Said Ali Musa,” Iman said, on the grounds of Egal International Airport.
NEC Spokesman, Said Ali Musa, also spoke at the press conference, and had his own message for the doubters of the NEC’s progress.
“I believe that many people who might have been worried (about its arrival), no longer have anything to say,” said Musa.
The campaign for Somaliland’s presidential election is expected to start on October 21st.
