President Silanyo sacks Marodi Jeh governor

HARGEISA – H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo sacked the Governor of Marodi Jeh and named his replacement in a presidential decree, issued on October 26th.

According to the press release issued from the President’s office, President Silanyo has replaced Marodi Jeh Governor, Mustafe Abdi Isse, with Boos Mire Mohamoud.

Isse, who was a long-time official in Silanyo’s administration, thanked President Silanyo for the many years they worked together, in a interview with Eryal TV, hours after he was fired on October 26th.

Isse’s replacement, Boos Mire Mohamoud, is the brother of Ahmed Mire Mohamoud, the prominent SNM veteran who published an open letter earlier this month threatening civil war if Kulmiye candidate, Musa Bihi Abdi, wins the presidential election on November 13th.

Shortly after being named to the post, Boos Mire Mohamoud, was asked about his brother’s letter in an interview with Bulsho TV. Mire simply responded saying that his brothers letter was taken out of context.
